L 10-7

Scarborough - Vikings

By Craig Bone

Vikings travelled away to Hornsea.

With a few changes from the original selected team, Vikings took the field against the top of the table side who have made their home ground a bit of a fortress.

Tom Harrison playing at 10 with a good back line around him pushing Hornsea back time after time.

With the forwards grafting from the first whistle on a very muddy pitch.

Vikings getting the better in forward exchanges, against the play Hornsea went into the break 5-0 up, straight after the half time break another Hornsea try with some lacklustre Vikings defence 10-0 to Hornsea, then Vikings seemed to wake up with a forwards try scored by Vice Captain Tom Read 20 minutes into the 2nd half converted by Harrison set up a last 20 minutes of great Vikings rugby asking questions but Hornsea stood firm to end the game with a narrow victory.

Great performances by Tom Read, Joe Messruther and Craig Fairbairn but Man of Match Tom Harrison showed lots of great touches with both attack and his boot.

Yet another game we let slip through our grasp, we seem to do all the hard work very well, but struggling to put points on the board from all the effort and set piece dominance we really put in week on week
