Scarborough - Vikings
By Craig Bone
Vikings travelled to East Hull to play BP hoping to write the wrongs from last season’s same fixture.
Two very physical sides with neither side giving an inch until a technical penalty was given away with BP slotting the points over. Five minutes later a 60 yard break from Full Back Craig Fairbairn drew the full back to give former Vikings captain Andy Rossol a try under the post converted by Captain Tom Read giving Vikings a 7-3 lead at halftime.
BP starting the better, got two quick tries within 10 minutes giving them an unlikely 17-7 lead. Hard work from Josh Broadhead, James Emsley, Paul Taylor, Tom Read and Liam Braithwaite driving the Vikings forward with eventually ball going wide to Tom Anderson to score in the corner which was unconverted. Gving the final score 17-12 in favour of the home side.
